SAFETY CULTURE ASSESSMENT

Safety culture is a strong predictor of continued safety performance. Our safety culture assessment measures employee perceptions of 14 unique safety-related issues and safety management systems scientifically linked to a variety of safety outcomes; it also measures 5 attitudes traditionally associated with overall job performance.

SAFETY ATTITUDES

  • Safety Support

  • Open Communication

  • Safety Accountability

  • Safety Recognition

  • Coworker Relations

  • Supervisor Support

  • Supervisor Safety Knowledge

  • Cause of Accidents

  • Profit vs. Safety

  • Safety Meetings

WHAT MAKES OUR ASSESSMENT UNIQUE

• It is based on empirical research of workplace attitudes and performance.
• It can be customized to the needs of particular work sites or organizations.
• It focuses on the “human element” of safety culture, along with the technical components;
many organizations are hitting their safety plateaus because of an overemphasis on the
measurement of technical aspects of safety management systems.

BENEFITS FROM USING THE ASSESSMENT

• Results yield actionable, benchmarked, results-oriented data.
• Results can be used to facilitate site-level safety culture comparisons.
• Your organization can use the results to assess the effectiveness of its safety improvement efforts.
• Your organization can incorporate the assessment into its current safety audit procedures.

CONTENT & LENGTH

Excluding demographic items, the assessment consists of 60 questions (53 attitude, 5 general feedback, 2 open-ended). Most respondents complete the assessment in about 25 minutes.
